Allergy Friendly Friday 2/17/12

TGIAFF, right?  I’m ready to sleep in for a couple of days.  And eat some comfort foods.  February really is comfort food month, isn’t it?  What’s your favorite comfort food? Mine is Shepherd’s Pie. (I’ve got a great new 30 minute Shepherd’s Pie recipe coming to you in my new book, btw)  Let’s make the theme of this week’s Allergy Friendly Friday COMFORT FOODS.  Allergy-free and/or gluten-free comfort foods. Bring on what you got!  I want to sit in front of my TV and eat it!

Thanks for all your great recipe links this past week! I am putting on my nagging hat for a moment:  Some great recipes were posted last week, that I would have LOVED to feature, but there were no hyperlinks back to Allergy Friendly Friday. Please remember that for me to feature your recipe, it has to link back to AFF.  Okay, nagging hat is coming off again. Some great gluten-free and/or allergy-friendly recipes from last week’s Allergy-Friendly Friday roundup were:

Please add your allergy-free and/or gluten-free recipe links to Allergy-Friendly Friday. PLEASE remember you have to link back from your post, for me to feature your recipe. That means link WITH A HYPERLINK THAT LINKS BACK HERE. When you link back to this post,  you can share both your own and other’s fabulous allergy-friendly recipes. Am I repeating myself? :) And remember, I specialize in creating gluten-free recipes that are free of the top 8 food allergens, but yours don’t have to be. They just have to be allergy-friendly in SOME way.

Hi! I shared my post about Cinnamon this week with a recipe for dairy free, grain free bread rolls. Thank you for hosting, I will be back later to look at all the posts!

I love these spice posts!

Hi, Cybele, thank you very much for featuring my friends’ homemade yogurt this week. It’s such a treat! Have a happy weekend too, I am also looking forward to resting and creating some comfort foods. This weekend I will try a new risotto; in the meantime this week I am sharing a recipe for steak tips with a mushroom sauce. They taste great during this cool time of year. All the best!

Big fan of steak tips, as are my boys. THanks for posting

Hi Cybele! Thanks so much for featuring my Banana Oatmeal Muffins. This week I shared my recipe for my son’s favoririte fish stew. It’s based on the Little Bear books, and it’s one of our favorite cold weather comfort foods. I hope that you’re not allergic to ALL fish. Have a wonderful week!

Thanks Rebecca. No, not all fish, just halibut, trout, and salmon, that I know of. Have a great weekend. (oh, and shellfish, like shrimp and crab).

Thanks so much, Cybele, for highlighting myt Spinach Artichoke Dip! This week I’m linking up some vegan burgers…Curried Lentil Love Burgers. Heart-shaped, they were perfect for Valentine’s week! Have a good weekend. :)

Hi Cybele,
This week I’m sharing pelau, a West Indian version of rice and beans. Not sure why my trackbacks aren’t showing up–last week’s didn’t either for some reason! Hope your readers enjoy–this is a fave at my house. :)
