Memorial Day may be behind us, but there are still many BBQs ahead.  Last week’s Allergy Friendly Friday was chock-full of fabulous Allergy-Free BBQ recipe links. I’m excited to try them all out this summer, and thank you so much for sharing your beautiful food here, on Allergy Friendly Friday.

Has anyone tried other bloggers recipes yet? If so, I’d love to hear about it in the comments section below.  The Allergy-Free BBQ posts from last week were all so great, it’s difficult to choose only 5 highlights.  The following five recipes from Allergy Free Memorial Day would make for one awesome picnic menu! Check out:

This week, I have no theme. I am themeless. So go wild and post any recipe you like.  Please remember you have to link back from your post, for me to feature your recipe! WITH A HYPERLINK THAT LINKS BACK HERE!  Please add your links for this week. Please link back to this post so you can share both your own and other’s fabulous allergy-friendly recipes. And remember, I specialize in creating gluten-free recipes that are free of the top 8 food allergens, but yours don’t have to be. They just have to be allergy-friendly in SOME way.

I am a little down on the recipe front as I am posting ones I wrote up before having to cut tomatoes out of my diet. I suspect my son is allergic to them and I’m still nursing so I am going without them for a while though I’ll still share some recipes with them featured as I have a ton prepped/photographed.

Oh,and to answer your question, I bookmarked a few recipes I’ve seen linked that I want to try with a few substitutions. I actually end up being fascinated by the unique mix of restrictions each poster has. We don’t eat meat so there are some I don’t check out but I try to click on everyone’s links otherwise!

    Dear Cybele,

Thanks so much for your great cookbook, which I love! I especially love that you are, as the old saying goes – not just giving a person a fish, but teaching them to fish. With your glossary and detailed information on substitutes for traditional baking ingridients, you are giving me the tools I need to become a master at the art of gluten and dairy free baking.

I really liked the idea of preparing a pre-made bag of flour and putting it in the fridge. However, because on an auto immune condition, I can’t eat gluten or potato, tapioca, millet, quinoa, nut flours, corn, and dairy. You say that xanthum gum is derived from corn, so that’s not good for me either. In any case, I wonder if you would be able to offer ideas about a substitute for the gluten-free pre-made flour mix for everything but the brown rice flour (that thankfully is ok for me)?

I would really appreciate your advice.

    Best, Laura

  15. Cybele says:

    Hi Laura:

NOt all xanthan gum is derived from corn. Authentic Foods xanthan gum is corn-free. re: flour mix, you can sub arrowroot for the tapioca and potato starch. Hope that helps!

    best,

    Cybele

  16. Laura says:

Thanks so much! I will check out arrowroot, but am also wondering how you feel about coconut flour? I tried it in waffles this morning with brown rice flour and it was delicious.

    Best, Laura

  17. Hi Cybele! Thank you so much for featuring my Cauliflower”Potato” Salad!
This week I shared my GF Chocolate Mint Cookies. I love it when a pre GF recipe converts easily to my GF flour mix- this one did on my first try!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
