Allergy Friendly Friday

(TGIAFF)

Thanks for your comments last week on Allergy-Friendly Friday.  I was very interested to learn which foods people find it hard to live without. Seems like white bread comes up over and over! I am happy that the No Tomato Tomato Sauce from Real Food Forager aready came in handy for Sara!

I don’t usually feature the same blogger two weeks running, but Ricki Heller from Diet, Dessert and Dogs is outdoing herself these days. Her quiche (Quizza) is so innovative, it really could not be overlooked. A few select highlights from last week’s Allergy Friendly Friday were:

Let’s have this week’s theme be Allergy-Friendly farm stand recipes. The pic above is from a farm stand near my dad’s house in Western Massachusetts, in a little town called Barre. PLEASE remember you have to link back from your post, for me to feature your recipe! WITH A HYPERLINK THAT LINKS BACK HERE!  Please add your links for this week. Please link back to this post so you can share both your own and other’s fabulous allergy-friendly recipes. And remember, I specialize in creating gluten-free recipes that are free of the top 8 food allergens, but yours don’t have to be. They just have to be allergy-friendly in SOME way.

ALLERGY-FRIENDLY FRIDAY LINK GUIDELINES:  PLEASE READ!

  1. I hope you enjoyed your vacation! I have to say, your pictures made me jealous. 🙂 Thanks for featuring my zucchini boats. This week I posted some awesome scones. I can’t wait to try your bread pudding.

    Have a great week,
    Nancy

    Hi Cybele,

I am so happy to find your website! My 8 month old has just been diagnosed with milk/dairy and soy allergies and I suspect he may be allergic to more. Because I’m breastfeeding (and normally enjoy most of the top 8 allergens on a daily basis) I now face the extremely daunting task of completely changing my diet. So it is a very real relief to find your website… you make me feel like I can actually do this! 🙂

I have a quick question… have you tried your Basic Gluten-Free Flour Mix in a bread machine? I was thinking of substituting it in a regular bread machine recipe.

Thanks so much for sharing your invaluable knowledge through your website and books 🙂

    Dana.

Aw, thanks so much, Cybele! Glad you had fun on vacay, too (those pics looked amazing). Don’t know how I missed all the talk on bread last week–but must admit I don’t pay much attention to bread, anyway, since I never eat it! (well, maybe twice a year). 😉 Happy Weekend! 🙂

I submitted my new go to refried bean recipe – it is simple but great. In the picture you may see one of your gluten free flour tortillas. I don’t shape them perfectly because I’m in a hurry but they’re great and my husband loves them!

Thanks for sharing my buffalo burgers post last week. What an honor!

This week I’m adding a recipe for Honey-Wine Braised Chicken and Greens. It doesn’t sound very exciting, but is in fact amazing. It’s the time of summer when everyone is giving away greens. This is a tasty recipe to use them in. 🙂
