Allergy Friendly Friday Mother’s Day

30

Mother’s Day is just around the corner.  Come share your allergy-friendly and/or gluten-free Mother’s Day recipes here on Allergy-Friendly Friday. And speaking of mothers, I’m honored to have been nominated for a Circle of Moms Top 25 Foodie Moms Award. Please vote, if you think I should be included in that list of the top 25. Let’s be sure to keep at least a few specialty diet mommy bloggers in the top 25. You can vote every day, and once from every computer or phone or ipad.

A couple of updates.  Carl the turtle still doesn’t swim. And I’m 99.9% sure Carl is a girl. My son Lennon’s nose is healing. It’s amazing how fast the little ones bodies mend! My cookies are rolling along and I’m keeping fingers crossed they’ll be in stores by the summer.  It takes as long as it takes, right? I hope you all are enjoying the spring! I know the spring flowers are bringing me so much joy. Oh yeah, one more thing, Obama’s helicopter flew over our house last night on the way to George Clooney’s for a big fundraiser dinner. That was very exciting, for some reason that I can’t quite put my finger on. It’s not like a saw him or anything, but somehow the presence of the president’s helicopter roaring right over our little house made me feel like a child in wonder.

Thanks again for sharing your recipe links here. It was nice to see some new faces in the roundup!  Some highlights from last week’s Allergy-Friendly Friday were:

Please add your allergy-free and/or gluten-free recipe links to Allergy-Friendly Friday. PLEASE remember you have to link back from your post, for me to feature your recipe. That means link WITH A HYPERLINK THAT LINKS BACK HERE. When you link back to this post, you can share both your own and other’s fabulous allergy-friendly recipes. Am I repeating myself? 🙂 And remember, I specialize in creating gluten-free recipes that are free of the top 8 food allergens, but yours don’t have to be. They just have to be allergy-friendly in SOME way.

    Hello Cybele,
I hope you have a lovely Mother’s day!. I saw your photo with your mother and you look a lot like her!, thank you for sharing it with us. Glad to read that your Lennon’s nose is healing. How exited was the president’s helicopter roaring over your house!.

  14. You are one busy lady Cybele- I don’t know how you do it all! I remember that I heard years ago “if you want something done, give it to a busy person to do”. It sounds funny but I think it makes sense because you know how to organize your time better.
I shared my recipe for Apricot Oat Crunchies. These cookies are pretty healthy because they contain dried apricots, dried coconut, oatmeal and cornflakes. In the future they will be even healthier because I am in the process of restesting all of my recipes using liquid stevia and coconut sugar. It’s going to take a while because they need quite a few changes so they aren’t dry and blah tasting.
    Have a lovely weekend!

    Hi There Cybele,

That is super awesome to see the President’s helicopter! Seriously!! Sounds like he raised a LOT of money for his campaign. Good thing! 🙂

Glad to hear your son’s nose is healing – and I agree about those little bodies…they do heal rather quickly. Oh, and perhaps you need to rename name Carl to Carla!! (he he).

Congratulations on your nomination. You’ve definitely got my vote! You are a treasure to the allergy-free community and I thank you for taking good care of us!!

This week, and in celebration of Mother’s Day, I am sharing chocolate covered strawberries (with homemade white and dark chocolate). I love that they are vegan and sugar free. I’m having so much fun playing around with homemade chocolate. 🙂

I do hope you have a wonderful Mother’s day tomorrow.

    Be Well,
    –Amber

  18. Having a quiet end to a great Mother’s Day…sans most mom duties!! I shared a recipe I worked very hard on to perfect! A tortilla recipe that was similar to a whole wheat, sans wheat of course! I wanted something wholesome and appropriate for sweet wraps. I have also been voting for you on Circle of MOms, I like that we can vote for all the ones we follow and use for inspiration…if I had to pick just one, it would be tough! Hope your day was relaxing…with all your projects, I can imagine how crazy life is for you right now!
