Allergy Friendly GOOD Friday

(TGIAFF)

Friday again, and another holiday just around the corner! What are you preparing for your Allergy-Friendly Easter?  How about my Allergy-Free Easter Cupcakes? Aren’t they cute?

I’ll admit, I owe a lot to Williams Sonoma for those sweet little chicks and bunnies.

I have some lovely news to report. This site is now a member or Martha’s Circle, a select group of blogs chosen by Martha Stewart and her editors.  Why is this awesome? Because it’s raising the profile of Allergen-Free Cuisine from “Weird” food to “Good” food, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. So thank you all for your readership, and most of all, for your contributions!  We are having our own allergy-free food revolution via our food blogging. (ps, who has been watching Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution? Thank God for that man!)

We got more contributions than ever last Friday, a lovely lot of frozen desserts, which I am certainly going to whip up for my boys.  There were also a lot recipes to choose from that would be perfect for Easter Brunch or Dessert.  How about trying one of these standout recipes from last week’s Allergy Friendly Friday? I’m thinking of making:

Please add your links for this week. Please link back to this post so you can share both your own and other’s fabulous allergy-friendly recipes. And remember, I specialize in creating gluten-free recipes that are free of the top 8 food allergens, but yours don’t have to be. They just have to be allergy-friendly in SOME way.

ALLERGY-FRIENDLY FRIDAY LINK GUIDELINES:  PLEASE READ!

  • Please add only ONE post per blog.
  • Please LINK back to this post so that your readers can find ALL the recipes linked to here. This is a sharing page.
  • Link to your individual recipe post, NOT your homepage.
  • Recipes DO NOT have to be completely allergen-free, just ALLERGY-FRIENDLY in some way.
  • When you link, let us know who you are. For example, I might add Roasted Asparagus Soup (cybele @cybelepascal.com)

  1. Hi Cybele- Happy Friday!
Congratulations on being chosen for Martha’s Circle! That’s great!
Your cupcakes are beautiful and I love that the frosting colors are a little darker than normal Easter pastel colors (I am so not a pastel person!)
I am sharing my recipe for Cauliflower Chopped Salad. It is gluten free and my vision for it was to take all of the flavors of a gourmet pasta salad and use cauliflower instead of pasta. I love cauliflower because it is so willing to adapt to whatever flavors that you want to pair it with!
Thanks for hosting and have a great weekend!

Congratulations on being a “Martha’s Circle” blog! That’s super-exciting, both for you and for allergy-friendly food in general. 🙂

I’m sharing my recipe for crêpes this week, because that’s what we’re eating on Easter. I’ll probably be serving them with berries and cream, and a side of roasted asparagus.

Cybele, you are so inspiring! Congrats on becoming part of Martha’s Circle. 🙂

Today I am sharing my recipe for Steel-Cut Oat Porridge with Spice Date Compote. It is like eating rice pudding for breakfast. So hearty, nutritious and delicious.

    Hi Andrea:

THanks for the Cauliflower Chopped Salad. I think I would really like that, as will my kids who strangely love cruciferous veggies (for which I count my blessings!). Thanks!

  7. Cybele says:

Dear Celia, thanks for the Crepes recipe link. I’m sure many people will really appreciate this one, as I get asked for it all the time! Now I can steer them your way!

    best,

    Cybele

    Hello Cybelle!
Congratulations on being chosen for Martha’s Circle!.
Your cupcakes are so so cute!.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share our recipes. My recipes are eggs and dairy free. I write in spanish because it’s my mother tongue and bacause when I started to search info 7 years ago, I didn’t find to much info… regretfully there was little information in spanish. I began my “cooking adventure” experimenting and experimenting and this is my contribution.
My muffins are made of bananas.
I follow your work and I love it!.
    Thank you very much!.
    Regards,
    Iratxe.

Thanks, Sarah B! What’s the faux chick made from?

    all best,

    Cybele

  20. SarahB says:

It is real chicken still, but unlike the fast food version they aren’t breaded using dairy and wheat, and aren’t fried in peanut oil.

Congratulations!! I always enjoy stuff from Martha Stewart because I know the quality has been tested, you totally deserve to be included in her “circle!”

I know baked potatoes are VERY basic but I could never get them right for the longest time, I tried wrapping them in foil which was a mistake. Just because restaurants wrap them in foil doesn’t mean they are baked that way, I am sure most people realize that but I didn’t so I thought I’d include the details of one of our common meals. I make a potato salad with the leftovers and I am perfecting the measurements before I post it, hopefully soon. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

  23. Hi Sarah B! Well, obviously I hadn’t clicked through yet. Your recipe is really nice! I have faux chicken on the brain, these days. I hear, supposedly, there is a new vegan chicken about to be available, that truly tastes like chicken, and has the right texture too.

  24. Thanks, Homa. I love baked potatoes, and my kids are potato addicts. Thanks for posting. And hope you had a great Easter!

  25. Homa says:

We are potato addicts as well, my mom is German so it is in our blood. 🙂 We had a lovely get together with some friends on Sunday at the park and the weather was fantastic, I cut maple sugar into pieces and put them in the eggs she found at the egg hunt (after taking the unsafe candy out) and we did an egg hunt at home. She handled it really well, I was hoping she wouldn’t feel left out. We also gave her some yummy earth lollipops. I hope you had a lovely day as well!

  26. Krista says:

Congratulations on being included in Martha’s Circle! Great news!

  27. SarahB says:

Thank you so much, Cybele, for the sweet compliment! 🙂 I am curious about that faux chicken now too! I’m sure it’s something my little guy couldn’t have, and I’m thankful he can at least eat poultry and meat, but I sure dislike cooking it. :p
