Dear Allergy-Friendly Friday Readers:Happy Halloween, bwahaha!!!!! I am sure many of us are busy making safe treats this weekend for our allergic sweeties Halloween parties. What are you making?

For my Allergy-Friendly Halloween Cupcakes, see my recipe over at Living Without here.

Please add your festive Halloween recipe links below.

Here are the choice recipe highlights from the last Allergy Friendly Friday:

Please add your allergy-free and/or gluten-free recipe links to Allergy-Friendly Friday. PLEASE remember you have to link back from your post, for me to feature your recipe. That means link WITH A HYPERLINK THAT LINKS BACK HERE. When you link back to this post, you can share both your own and everybody else’s.And remember, I specialize in creating gluten-free recipes that are free of the top 8 food allergens, but yours do not have to be. They just have to be allergy-friendly in SOME way.

Just remember:

  • One recipe per blogger, please.
  • Please link back to this post so your readers can find all the recipes. This is a sharing page.
  • Link to your recipe, not to your homepage.
  • Recipes do not have to be completely allergen-free, just allergy-friendly in some way.
  • When you link, let us know who you are. For example, I might add Allergy-Friendly Halloween Cupcakes (cybele@cybelepascal.com)

  2. I LOVE those cupcakes! They are so cute, and I appreciate how you used natural food colourings.

Thank you for featuring my recipe, and for hosting this link-up! Today I shared a sweet potato casserole that uses grated beets to make the dish cheery and festive. It’s not specifically spooky, but cutting a bit of sugar from dinner leaves more room for fun desserts!

  8. Hi Cybele,
I was hoping to send you an email, but couldn’t find your email address on your site. I’ve been working on a cookbook for a long time and finally have a manuscript (almost) put together. I was just curious how you got your start with getting published, etc. IF you didn’t mind sharing. Any wisdom or suggestion you could pass on to me would be greatly appreciated!

      Hi Megan:

First, congrats on your manuscript! I know how much work goes into it. FYI my email is allergyfriendlycook@gmail.com I think it’s too hard to find on this site. I apologize!

Re: cookbook, this is going to sound really cheezy, but never give up, is my advice. I got rejected by every major publisher when I first went out with my book in 2003. I was told nobody had multiple food allergies and there was no need for a book like mine (The Whole Foods Allergy Cookbook). I even had an agent, but she couldn’t sell it. So I started reaching out to small independent publishers myself, with a focus on food or health. I finally found one who was willing to take a risk on me. They’ve since shut down, but they took a chance and published that first book and it went on to become a best seller, so obviously the big publishers were wrong, there is a need for books like ours. I am now feeling that if I were to do it all over, I’d self publish. That way you really hold on to what is yours. I would reach out to Alisa at Go Dariy Free, who self published and does fantastically well with it. She makes way more from her books than I ever do or will from my publishers. email me if you want to talk more. all best,

      Cybele
