Allergy Friendly Friday

(TGIAFF)

Thank you again to whomever it was that nominated this site to the Circle of Moms Top 25 Food Allergy Blogs list. I’d be honored to be in that top 25, so click on the badge above, and just scroll down till you hit my listing and click on vote, if you feel so inclined. Alternately, you can just click here. You can vote for it every day up until November 16th. And as mentioned earlier, with 25 slots to fill, there is room on that list for this blog and most of my food allergy blogger friends (girls, you know who you are!)

What an impressive lot of recipes you all have added over the last 2 weeks!  I’m going to have a very hard time just picking 4 featured recipes with so many beauties! Drumroll please….

My first pick for Allergy-Friendly Friday is this gorgeous Lemon Cake from Sheena Cucina. Lemon cake is one of my favorite things in the whole wide world.

Next I was wowed by these adorable seasonal Pumpkin Krispie Treats from Fresh4Five. These would be great on your Thanksgiving table as part of the dessert spread, don’t you think? Kids would love an alternative to pumpkin pie!

Then I noticed this innovative and warming Creamy Pumpkin Breakfast Cereal from Tessa the Domestic Diva.

And last, but certainly not least, I was drawn to these mega Gluten Free Blueberry Muffins from Gluten Freely Frugal.

These were just four of the many many wonderful allergy-free and gluten-free recipes you submitted over the past two weeks. Please come back with your links for this week! PLEASE remember you have to link back from your post, for me to feature your recipe. That means link WITH A HYPERLINK THAT LINKS BACK HERE. When you link back to this post,  you can share both your own and other’s fabulous allergy-friendly recipes. Am I repeating myself? 🙂 And remember, I specialize in creating gluten-free recipes that are free of the top 8 food allergens, but yours don’t have to be. They just have to be allergy-friendly in SOME way.

ALLERGY-FRIENDLY FRIDAY LINK GUIDELINES:  PLEASE READ!

  • Recipes DO NOT have to be completely allergen-free, just ALLERGY-FRIENDLY in some way.
  • When you link, let us know who you are. For example, I might add  old fashioned gingersnaps (cybele @cybelepascal.com)

Circle of Moms Top 25 Food Allergy Blogs

After a whirlwind trip to New York City to visit my husband who is working there for the next six months (where it SNOWED, granting my children their greatest wish! See view from our window yesterday!)

And a quick detour to Iowa (view from my car window, day before yesterday)

I am back in Los Angeles to reclaim my normal life.

While I was away, I got a sweet email telling me that this blog had been nominated for the Circle of Moms Top 25 Food Allergy Blogs.  I’m a little hesitant about asking you all to vote for me, because I feel that so many of the other bloggers nominated are my friends and colleagues and I really hate to compete in such a familial way. On the other hand, one of you readers nominated me, and for that I am truly grateful and feel humbled. So if you like this blog, and feel it is helpful or entertaining or in any way impacting you, go vote for it at:

Just click on the badge to get to the site. You can vote for it every day up until November 16th. And I am supposing that with 25 slots to fill, there is room for most of us anyway. Best of luck to my food allergy blogger buddies!

I’m a little surprised that not one single one of you had a thing to say about my Pumpkin Sunbutter Soup. Don’t be shy. Did you love it or hate it?  Yay, or Boo? I’ll be just as happy if you tell me you hate the concept as if you tell me it’s delish!  Alright, don’t tell me what you think of my soup, but at least tell me what you’re doing with pumpkin and all the other winter squash this season. I really do want to know! (more…)
